Old School RuneScape just obtained its first ever group boss fight, the Nightmare of Ashihama. It challenges up to 80 players to team up and deliver it down in exchange for a few sweet loot. Additionally, it includes new battle mechanics, meaning that a manual is in order. We're going to provide you with a full guide to the expertise, describing how it functions, providing hints, and a full breakdown of rewards and much more. It challenges players to battle a monster called The Nightmare, which can be located in Morytania. In an interesting move by Jagex, The Nightmare's health and combat stats climb based on the amount of players in the fight.
The battle takes place in a case, and just one set of players can battle The Nightmare at once -- though Ironmen get their own separate instance. To initiate the battle, a player needs to simply strategy The Nightmare's body, pick Disturb, and you'll head directly to the case. The initiation is slightly different for Ironmen though. Instead, these hard cookies have to drink from the Pool of Nightmares to initiate the conflict. Either way, just 1 group can fight The Nightmare simultaneously, with the rest of the players needing to wait till the instance is completed before getting their chance. When the players defeat The Nightmare or every single player becomes defeated, then the fight is finished. You'll known another team is fighting The Nightmare if she is floating over the floor when you reach her, instead of lying on the floor.
The Nightmare of Ashihama is located in Morytania, so you will need in order to get this place to participate. That is the only restriction though. Her specific place is in the Sisterhood Sanctuary, which is appropriate under the town of Slepe. You won't really fight her here though -- not actually. You actually fight her inside her dreams. Though there aren't any requirements (besides accessibility to Morytania), acquiring all battle stats above level 85 is recommended so you don't get decimated in one hit. We would also advise that you get a high Prayer level, as you'll need protection prayers to mitigate the damage.
Naturally, having decent top level equipment is important also. Once in the struggle, there are a variety of regular and special attacks that you'll need to watch out for so that you are able to successfully mitigate them. Frequent attacks are interfering with the ideal prayers, which considerably lessen the damage they cope, though particular attacks will require a different approach.
